Last updated: 2026/10/19

Agreen, operated by Green Carbon Inc. (“we,” “our,” or “us”), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and safeguard information about you when you use the Agreen mobile app (the “App”). It covers the App on Android and iOS; the Agreen web platform has its own privacy policy.

We use your information to:

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share your information only:

3.1 Where Your Information Is Stored

App data is stored on Amazon Web Services servers in Tokyo, Japan, and backups stay in Japan. This means your information is transferred from your country to Japan. Location coordinates are also sent to Google in the United States for address lookup. By using the App, you consent to these transfers.

4. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure, including:

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your login details private.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes in this Privacy Policy or as required by law. Project records (agronomic data, GPS coordinates, field photos, and survey answers) will be permanently retained for a minimum of 15 years after the end of the project’s crediting period. This is required because registries and auditors (such as JCM, Verra, and Gold Standard) need to verify evidence for international carbon standard audits and to prevent double counting.

Account information is kept while your account is active and for 12 months afterwards. After that, we delete or anonymize it. Accounts and data from earlier versions of the App were not transferred to the current App but are kept separately for project reporting and verification under these same retention terms.

Deleting your account and data

You hold the right to request the deletion or withdrawal of your personal identifying information by emailing Green Carbon directly at agreendev@green-carbon.inc or by using the ‘Contact Green Carbon Office’ option located in the Support section of the Application. Upon receiving a verified request, we will delete or anonymize your personal identifiers within 30 days. However, as noted above, project records essential for carbon standard audits cannot be deleted.

6. App Permissions Notice

The App asks for the following permissions on your device:

If you deny these permissions in your device settings, some features of the App, such as submitting photo evidence, may not work properly.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information below. We will reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted in the App with a revised “Last Updated” date. For significant changes, we will ask you to review and accept the updated Policy in the App before you continue using it.

10. Children

The App is intended for users aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
